I started to attend Kirkdale School very soon after it opened. I was the sixth child on the school register and attended daily from the age of 5 until the age of 11.

I had further contact with the school for various reasons and in various roles up until about 1982.

As part of the founding group I feel it important that the story of the foundation and continuation of Kirkdale School be recorded for posterity.

I hope and intend to do this by compiling  and presenting documentary fact and by collecting narrative accounts from anyone connected with the school who wishes to contribute.

In 2015 it will be 50 years since the founding six children were first brought together and then met as a group on a daily basis at 186 Kirkdale London SE26.
